Sirisia MP John Walukhe resigns as Bungoma County ODM Chair

Sirisia MP John Walukhe has resigned as Bungoma County Orange Democratic (ODM) party Chair.

Speaking at Mayuba stadium in Bungoma County, the County chair accused party leader Raila Odinga of sidelining western leaders, adding that this informed his decision to quit office.

At the same time, Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba has vowed to mobilize all Western Kenya ODM MPs exit the party ahead of the 2017 polls.

Namwamba says that this would deny ODM chief Raila Odinga the Western vote in the upcoming General Election.

Namwamba and Walukhe are now calling on Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula to join hands to form united front.

Namwamba who is yet to officially  tender his resignation as ODM’s Secretary General  accused his party of giving him a raw deal by making him a ‘powerless’ Secretary General.

His resignation came barely a week after the party’s Vice Chair Paul Otuoma also resigned from his position saying that ODM lacked internal democracy.
