Sitawai rudia kuenda kwa mto tena usiku hata kwa sasa nimeokoka, says man rescued after days at 14 Falls

A fisherman who was trapped at 14 Falls in Kilimambogo, Kiambu since Friday was rescued after a police chopper was deployed from Nairobi.

Vincent Musila was marooned after heavy rains pounded the area while he was fishing at night.

“Tulimuona amekuja amekamata samaki nikama alikua anahisi baridi na alikua na kiberiti akawasha moto akachoma samaki na akakula,”a resident said.

According to residents of Kilimambogo, they tried to save him but the heavy downpour hampered their efforts.

His canoe that was his source of shelter was also swept away by the raging waters.

Vincent spent the night in the cold fearing for the worst.

Area MCA  Joachim Mwangi Njama is the one who came to the fisherman’s rescue.

He reached out to Interior SecurityFred Matiang’i who deployed a police chopper to rescue Vincent.

As the helicopter descended towards where he was, residents could be heard cheering and applauding police officers.

“Sitawahi rudia kuenda kwa mto tena usiku hata kwa sasa nimeokoka,” Vincent said after he was brought to safety.
