Six arrested over dormitory fire

Six arrested over dormitory fire

Property worth millions of shillings has been destroyed after a fierce inferno burnt down a dormitory at Chepkechei Secondary school in Kipkelion, Kericho County.

Kipteris location Chief Francis Chepkwony confirmed the incident saying the fire is suspected to have been deliberately started by six disgruntled boys for unknown reasons.

Chepkwony added that the six were, however, arrested and taken to Fortenan Police station after being nabbed by members of the public as they attempted to flee from the school after the incident.

Nothing was salvaged from the dormitory which had been constructed using timber after students and neighbors were overwhelmed by the inferno.

In another fire in the same county,  a two bed-roomed house was burnt down to ashes at Brooke Trading Center in the outskirts of Kericho town after a cooking gas exploded.

This comes a under a week after another inferno gutted down business premises near Kericho Bus stop.
