Six bodies dumped at Tsavo West park likely to be from Isiolo

Around six different families whose kin went missing in Isiolo on Wednesday trooped into the Makindu Hospital Mortuary in a bid to identify six bodies that were dumped at the Tsavo West National Park.

Reports indicate that the bodies, which were discovered by Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) rangers, were badly mutilated and some still had ropes around their necks.

Police officers from Mtito Andei Police Station as well as detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) who visited the scene, believe that the six were murdered elsewhere before being dumped in the park.

According to a report filed at Kibwezi Police Station, two KWS rangers were on patrol at Kanga area within the park at around 1:45pm on Tuesday when they encountered a foul smell and sought the source.

Upon searching, they reportedly discovered the six bodies, which were naked and decomposing.

The bodies believed to be of African male adults were scattered around the park about a kilometer from the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
