Father shoots dead three children, injures three others in Elgeyo Marakwet

Three children died on Sunday night while three others are admitted at Iten County Referral Hospital in Elgeyo Marakwet County after they were shot by their father.

Confirming the incident, Marakwet East Sub-County Police Commander Vincent Kitili said the man shot the children — all from the same family — while they were sleeping at their home in Kapker Village.

He further added that the man, a suspected armed bandit, shot the children – – two of whom are his own – – after a domestic fight with his wife, who was not present during the incident.

Mr. Kitili said police are searching for the man who escaped after the act.

Bodies of the three deceased children were taken to Iten Referral Hospital mortuary.
