Six killed in Marsabit road accident

Six people including five members from one family died on Friday night in a road accident at Walda area, Marsabit County.

According to Marsabit County police boss Paul Mbusya, the six died, after a private car they were travelling in lost control and rolled several times between Turbi and Walda area at around 8:00PM.

Four others were injured and rushed to Sololo Mission Hospital in Moyale.

The car was heading to Moyale from Turbi, in Marsabit.

Elsewhere, a 2-year-old child died in London area, Narok North after falling into an open pit meant for construction of a latrine.

The father of the deceased condemned the digging of many pits in the area and leaving them open, saying they pose danger to residents and especially children.

Narok Deputy OCPD Charles Amolo confirmed the incident, warning against random digging of open pits, saying it is illegal and culprits must be arrested and prosecuted.

Amolo has directed the area chief to carry out an operation in the area to ensure all open pits are sealed or fenced.
