Six killed in shootout between police and gangsters in Migori

Six people, including four suspected robbers and two civilians, were on Thursday night killed in a shootout between police and suspected gangsters in Isebania town, Migori County.

The shooting ensued after members of the public and police officers confronted the suspects who had just robbed a businessman in the area.

According to an eyewitness, Joseph Chacha, the four robbers gunned down two civilians before being killed by police.

Chacha told Citizen Digital that police engaged the four armed robbers in a gunfight for more than two hours before killing them.

The residents however expressed dissatisfaction with the manner in which police handled the issue, noting that they only had two armed policemen to assist them in nabbing and killing the suspects.

Confirming the incident, Migori County Police Commander David Kirui said they managed to recover two firearms from the deceased.
