Six-month old baby burnt to death in Migori
A somber mood has engulfed Bware village, Migori County after a six-months old baby was burnt to death inside their family house.
The mother, Rosemary Jumba, had left the infant in the house and was helping the mother-in-law with household chores when a neighbour alerted her that there was smoke coming from her house.
Upon rushing there, she found the infant burnt beyond recognition.
The mother was devastated and could not express herself as the neighbours’ came into the home to console with her.
Sources say that the mother had left a tin lamp lighting in the house.
The body of the deceased was buried immediately according to the Maragoli culture to fend off the evil spirits.
The culture demands that the body is buried before midday.
