Six people injured in accident on Migori-Rongo highway

Six people sustained injuries in an accident involving three motor vehicles which occurred Monday morning at Kanga area on the Migori-Rongo highway.

Confirming the accident, Rongo Sub-county Deputy Police Commander Zebedi Amsanda said preliminary investigations established that the accident was caused by the driver of a vehicle who was making his way into the Migori-Rongo highway at Kanga junction.

Mr. Amsanda said the driver of the vehicle suspected to have caused the accident was among the five people who were injured in the accident.

He added that the driver of the vehicle sustained serious injuries while the other five passengers who were in other vehicles sustained minor injuries.

Meanwhile the sub county deputy police commander has called on the motorists and other road users to be cautious when using the Migori-Rongo highway which is still under construction.
