Six Tanzanian pupils killed, 25 injured in explosion
Six pupils were killed and 25 others seriously injured in an explosion at a school in Tanzania on Wednesday, November 8.
Reports indicate that the children were unknowingly playing with a devise that is suspected to be a grenade they had found within the school in Kagera region, North West of Tanzania.
The BBC reports that three of the six Tanzanian pupils were pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital, while the others succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment in hospital.
The region plays host to many refugees from the neighboring Burundi, with security experts saying that they have become accustomed to weapon remains in the area.
Investigations have since been launched into the fatal incident.
