Six Tanzanians jailed by a Kilgoris court

Six Tanzanian nationals have been sentenced to four and half years in jail by a Kilgoris Court for being in the country illegally.

The six, Mwita Kagira, Mwita Mugima, Juma Muhere, Chacha Serere, Itangira Marwa and Muhere Maroa were arrested after they were found in Maasai Mara on Monday, January 9 in possession of twenty kilograms of bush meat.

Appearing before Kilgoris Senior Resident Magistrate, Amos Mokoross, the six Tanzanian nationals pleaded guilty to the charges.

The Magistrate issued the sentence with an alternative fine of 400,000 shillings each.
