Solai Dam tragedy: 22 families get new houses

Twenty two families whose homes were destroyed during the Solai Dam tragedy over a year ago have been successfully resettled and even presented with new houses.

This was after well-wishers and Non-Governmental Organizations built them houses through the African Inland Church (AIC) and the CDS foundation.

Each family was handed over a modern 4-bedroomed wooden house to help them start over after the devastating event that killed over 46 people.

Speaking during the handover, the families narrated how it has been difficult to put a roof over their heads as well as food since the incident.

The grateful lot now say they are hopeful as they begin to rebuild their lives but lamented of having not yet received any compensation.
