Someone tried to hack our system but failed IEBC

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) now says that it has seen attempts by external entities to hack into its systems, but the suspected hackers were not successful.

According to Commissioner Roselyn Akombe, the technology in which IEBC servers are developed cannot allow any external interference and therefore the server system is still secure and intact.

The National Super Alliance (NASA) had faulted IEBC for streaming results they termed as ‘fraud’ as they were not verified against the verification form that usually presents results signed by all party agents at constituency level.

However, the commission assured Kenyans that tallying of the presidential results using the scanned Form 34As is underway and so far so good.

“We appeal to contestants and their agents to bring any complaint formally to the commission for consideration. So far we have 1,200 polling centers yet to relay their results because of logistical and network problems,” said the commissioner.
