South Rift medics threaten strike over withheld pay

Doctors from six counties in the South Rift region have threatened to go on strike to demand payment of their withheld salaries during the period they were on strike.

Affected counties in the region include Nakuru, Bomet Laikipia, Kericho, Kajiado and Narok.

KMPDU South Rift Secretary, Dr Damji Atellah, says they have written to the governors of the six counties seeking for a consultative meeting with the aim of having the withheld salaries from the month of December to March paid immediately.

Dr Atella says should the consultative meetings fail to yield fruits, they will have no choice but to go on strike.
