Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Kenya Justin  Muturi on Thursday ordered for better working conditions for journalists covering parliamentary proceedings.

This was after journalist Roselyne Obala posted a photo of a battery of journalists sprawled on the floor as they covered a parliamentary committee sitting.

The tweet drew mixed reactions with many journalists saying they are used to the poor working conditions where they stand even for more than two hours.

It caught the Speaker’s attention who promised action.

“This has been noted. I have since instructed that whenever possible, journalists covering Parliament be adequately facilitated to do their work,” he said.
