Starehe Jubilee Primaries results suspended after singer Jaguar protests

Starehe Constituency primaries’ results stand suspended after singer Jaguar on Thursday, April 27 protested the results, which had declared incumbent Member of Parliament, Maina Kamanda, the winner, said Jubilee Party Secretary General, Raphael Tuju.

Tuju said investigations into the controversial results have been launched, and findings will soon be communicated.

Chaos had erupted at Jamhuri High School in Nairobi on Thursday, April 27, after Jaguar’s supporters stormed the tallying center demanding the singer be declared Starehe MP Jubilee Party ticket winner.

Kamanda had amassed 10,384 votes compared to Jaguar’s 8,300 votes to be declared winner.

Earlier reports, which were unconfirmed and had circulated on social media, claimed Jaguar, born Charles Njagua Kanyi, was ahead of the incumbent legislator, and was likely to be the next Jubilee Party candidate for Starehe MP.
