State agencies ordered to brand projects as Vision 2030, Big 4 Agenda

All government communications going forward must make reference to Vision 2030 and the Big Four agenda priorities. This is according to a new directive issued by the Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua.

In a circular dated August 24, 2021 and seen by Citizen TV, Kinyua says the directive will focus on the implementation progress of all related projects and programmes.

Kinyua noting that the coordinated approach will also ensure that success and achievements of government projects are effectively communicated to the public.

As a result, the Head of Public Service directed that all advertisements and public communications bear the Kenya Vision 2030, Big 4 agenda and the institutions individual logo.

In addition, government departments have also been directed to ensure that all advertisements and public communications be edited, curated and compartmentalized under the appropriate Kenya Vision 2030 pillar and the Big Four agenda.

The responsibility of achieving this being placed under the vision 2030 delivery secretariat and the Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU). The two offices also being tasked with a joint quarterly audit to ensure compliance.

With less than a year to go in office, the directive is seen as a move by the presidency to document president uhuru kenyatta’s achievements during his tenure that has been characterised by huge infrastructural investments across the country.

This includes projects such as the Nairobi Expressway, Lamu port, revival of the meter gauge railway lines, the Standard Gauge Railyway line and Last Mile rural electrification programme among others. The projects have also been branded as Kenya Vision 2030 flagship projects.
