State House saddened by Nakuru dam tragedy
State House has said the Nakuru Dam tragedy that left over 30 people dead and 2,500 displaced is saddening.
A statement from Manoah Esipisu on Thursday indicated that the Interior CS and Inspector General of Police are leading search and rescue operations.
“We are saddened by the loss of lives and property occasioned by the bursting of Patel Dam in Solai, Subukia…
“First responders have been on the ground and we commend them for the work they are doing in the rescue efforts,” the statement reads.

Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jr has urged the President to declare the ongoing floods a national disaster.
The lawmaker accused the State of keeping mum despite the rising death toll that now stands at 124.
Property worth millions of shillings has been destroyed and 264,500 people displaced.
The Wiper Senator also appealed to the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), Red Cross and other humanitarian agencies to assist flood victims across the country,
He further urged local leaders to work together and tackle the flood crisis to prevent disease outbreak.
