Steve Mbogo asks court to bar media from running investigative story

ODM candidate Steve Mbogo has moved to court seeking to bar four media houses from airing on an investigating story about him.

Mbogo wants the High Court to bar Nation Media Group Limited, People Media Group, The Standard Group and the Star barred from airing the story, saying it will cause him untold suffering.

In documents seen by Citizen Digital Mbogo has asked the court to issue an order “restraining the defendants from covering the current proceedings on grounds of necessity for privacy”.

He claims that the defendants have indicated to him through telephone calls and text messages that they are working on an investigating story to link him to a defilement case in which he was cleared by the court over 5 years ago.

The political first-timer – who came in to the limelight in 2015 for his flamboyant lifestyle – will battle it out with Jubilee’s Charles Kanyi (alias Jaguar) and activist Boniface Mwangi for the Starehe seat.
