Stolen military items recovered in Nakuru

Flying squad officers in Nakuru Thursday morning seized assorted military items from a residential house in Mireroni Village, Lanet.

The items were seized after the officers led by Nakuru DCIO James Lelia conducted search in the house while following up on a consignment of goods stolen at gunpoint in Salgaa last week.

The items recovered included water pumps, military uniforms, gas cylinders, vehicle tents, spanners, 5 litres of gun cleaning oil, fuel jerry cans and combat bags among others.

Lelia said that the owner of the house, identified as Joseph Mwaura, was arrested and will assist police with investigations.

Mwaura told police that the military items belong to a Kenya Defence Forces officer from Lanet barracks who left them in his house.
