Stop criticizing gov’t, Kindiki tells CORD
Senate Majority Leader Kithure Kindiki has urged the opposition CORD to stop criticizing the Jubilee Government every time an issue arises.
Speaking in Isiolo during a fundraiser, Kindiki said the opposition should instead genuinely work with the government in solving the various issues to move the country forward.
The Senate majority leader noted that the government welcomes views, opinions, suggestions and corrections that help in improving the country’s economy and service delivery to Kenyans.
He also exuded confidence that the Jubilee Administration will win the next General Election, noting that they had several strategies in place to guarantee the win.
Kindiki’s sentiments come in the wake of criticism by the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) towards the government over the Eurobond saga.
In a statement on Friday, Raila had indicated that at least Sh140 billion of the Eurobond funds was still unaccounted for and termed CS Rotich’s data as mischievous, saying he should also have released documentation for domestic revenue for government’s accounts to balance.
Odinga claimed the documents show all externally funded development expenses amounting to Sh247 billion were accounted for without the Eurobond, saying it only paid for external debts totaling Sh75 billion.
On Saturday, Jubilee leaders hit out at CORD leader Raila Odinga for his remarks on the Eurobond deal, saying that his recent statements were aimed at economically sabotaging the county.
“What they (opposition leaders) are doing is just to sabotage the economy by scaring away investors but we want to tell them that they will not succeed,” said Ruto.
