Stop divisive politics- First Lady Margaret Kenyatta

First Lady Margaret Kenyatta has urged Embu County leaders to give a chance to dialogue and reconciliation amongst themselves as a way of promoting unity of purpose and development in the County.

Mrs Kenyatta criticized the political tension that has reportedly characterized relations between Embu leaders making it difficult to realize the much needed conducive atmosphere for development.

She advised the leaders to cultivate sobriety, reconciliation and aspire to forge unity of purpose adding that Embu County has great potential that should be exploited for the benefit of its people.

The First Lady made the remarks on Friday at Kangaru Girls School where she donated the 34th Beyond Zero mobile clinic to Embu County.

Political leaders present included Governor Martin Wambora, MPs John Muchiri of Manyatta, Mutava Musyimi of Mbeere South and Women Representative Rose Mitaru and county assembly members.

The First Lady called for adequate safeguards of Environmental management in Embu to save the three of the five major dams generating electricity in Kenya which are located in the County.

On the beyond Zero campaign, the First Lady noted that the concept of preventing maternal deaths has so far been a success in the County.

Governor Wambora said his administration has prioritized provision of health services in the County to create a healthy working society.
