Stop hurling barbs at your mentor, Raila ODM MP tells Ababu

Suna West Member of Parliament Joseph Obiero Ndiege has told his Budalang’i counterpart Ababu Namwamba to appreciate Raila for making him what he is today politically, adding that she should stop hurling barbs at his mentor.

Ndiege argued that Orange Democratic Party (ODM) luminary Raila Odinga is a class above Ababu politically, therefore the Budalangi representative should tread carefully.

“Raila really assisted that young man to be who he is today. Hiyo ni mti kubwa; utawezana nayo kweli?” he asked.

The MP also told off Migori County Senator Wilfred Machage over his previous threats to ditch ODM, saying Machage would have not clinched his seat without Raila’s support.

“Just the other year, Raila pleaded with us to give Machage his seat. How can Machage talk ill of Raila now?

Adding his voice to the conversation about ‘Jubilee moles’ within ODM, Ndiege called for the immediate resignation of members who are allied to the ruling coalition.

ODM has been rocked by internal party politics over the past few weeks, with top Western Kenya MPs expressing dissatisfaction with the party leadership.

Ababu Namwamba resigned from the party last week, and his Funyula counterpart, Paul Otuoma, followed suit. Sirisia MP John Walukhe, who served as Bungoma County ODM Chair, has also joined the list of Western Kenya MPs who have resigned from their party positions.
