A form one student at St. Paul Mixed Secondary school in Isiolo is being held by police after he assaulted and injured his teacher.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, the school’s headteacher George Mbijiwe said that the boy was among a group of students who had been sent home the previous day by the teacher on duty to shave their hair and report back to school accompanied by their parents.

According to Mbijiwe, the students left the school as instructed but reported early in the morning and assaulted the teacher who had sent them home, wounding him.

The student then led the other group members to the headteacher’s office where they broke the window panes using stones.

Isiolo Police Commandant Nelson Okioga confirmed the incident saying that the student, who was arrested, is still in custody aiding with investigations as he awaits to be arraigned in court.
