Student chops off schoolmate’s hand for being behind his suspension
Police in Homa Bay County are looking for a Form Three student who allegedly chopped off his fellow schoolmate’s hand, accusing him of being behind his suspension.
According to an eye-witness, the 16-year-old suspect from Nyamwaga Mixed Secondary School confronted the victim, 15, who was alone on his way home, claiming he had ‘snitched’ on him to the school administration leading to his suspension.
Confirming the incident, Rachuonyo East Sub County Police Commander Charles Barasa said the suspect who was armed with a machete, attacked the victim chopping off his left hand as he tried to block the Panga.
Barasa said it was not yet clear why the student was suspended from School.
They have since launched a manhunt for the suspect who went missing after the attack on Satursday.
The victim was rushed to Matata Hospital in Oyugis Town where he is undergoing treatment.
