Student dies at city hospital after shooting self

A Form Four student at the Aga Khan High School in Nairobi died while receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital after he shot himself on Tuesday night.

The 18-year-old student shot himself in the head at their  Lavington home in Nairobi using his father’s gun and was rushed to the Nairobi Hospital in critical condition.

The Form Four student died while receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit.

Nairobi County Police boss Japhet Koome said the student’s father, a licensed firearm holder, was not in the house at the time of the suicide attempt, and the gun was locked in a safe which the student managed to open.
