Form Three student commits suicide in class

Police in Nyatike have launched investigations into the death of a Form Three student who allegedly committed suicide in class using a neck tie.

Fellow students at Jangoye Secondary School discovered the body of Daniel Okoth Okelo on Tuesday night, area OCPD Dishon Chebaka said.

According to the police boss, the students had gone for their evening studies when they found their colleague hanging from the roof.

The body has been moved to the Migori Level Four Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.

Police have so far interrogated students and parents at he school in a bid to uncover what may have led Daniel to take his own life.

The OCPD is however urging students to seek professional help whenever they feel overwhelmed or under pressure.
