Student who committed suicide over Ksh80, 000 laid to rest

A Kenya School of Accountancy student who committed suicide after allegedly squandering Ksh80, 000 meant for school fees, was laid to rest on Saturday at his father’s home in Ondome Village, Migori County.

Paul Omondi was buried one week after he took his own life. His grief struck parents said the deceased left a suicide note apologising for choosing to die the way he did.

“Forgive me for squandering your hard earned money. I cannot live to face the shame; I was betrayed by the money you gave me to pay school fees. Please just understand me. As you will be burying me, burry me with the clothes died in,”

Omondi’s roommate Evans Kwach said he was saddened by his colleague’s death. Kwach urged fellow students and young men to seek for constructive solutions to the challenges.
