Students Forced To Sleep 8 per Bed in Narok School

The school recently converted to a boarding institution to aid students who had been trekking over 20 kilometers to get to school.

This plan, however, has not been working right as some of the students are forced to convert their classes into dormitories at night in a bid to create more room.

The institution which serves the community around Sogoo villages  has more challenges, including lack of a laboratory, library, and dining hall as students take their meals from outside.

Lack of water at the institution has also hindered the performance of students who are forced to ration their daily usage.

UNHEALTHY INTERACTION

Speaking to the media, Nkaroni’s school principal Richard Nyagaka said it has been hard for the students, especially at night as the congestion has been extreme, forcing him to watch over them during the night to prevent unhealthy interaction among the students.

Nyagaka added that the distance the students were walking to school from home was very long, adding that outsiders took advantage of their predicament to waylay female students.

Nyagaka added that even though the school had performed dismally last year there was still hope for the students.

The principal further pointed out that it is the only school within the area thus it is serving huge population that keeps growing every day.

Students at the institution also expressed concern over the challenges they are currently experiencing, adding that they fear it will affect their performance.
