Support Kalonzos 2017 presidential ambitions, Raila told

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has been told to support Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka‘s 2017 presidential ambitions.

Speaking in a Church service at Redeemed Gospel Church in Machakos, Makueni Governor Kivutha kibwana said Odinga should reciprocate the support he received from Kalonzo in 2013 by supporting him in the next General Election.

He noted that his Muungano party would join Wiper to give Kalonzo more clout ahead of the 2017 elections.

In his address, Kalonzo obliquely hinted at his plans to run for the presidency in the 2017 elections, saying he is eyeing national positions and not tribal leadership.

The Wiper leader dismissed the formation of Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement, a brainchild of Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, saying he is not interested in tribal outfits.

While downplaying the new political outfit, Machakos Senator Johnston Muthama said supremacy battles are not necessary in Ukambani.

The campaigns, held by Mutua, have been seen by political pundits as a plot to dethrone Kalonzo, who has for years enjoyed overwhelming support from the region.

On Saturday, Alfred Mutua broke down in tears over what he termed as retrogressive politics being played in Ukambani.

Mutua claimed that he will not be distracted by his opponents in his efforts to improve the lives of the people of Ukambani through development projects.
