Supreme Court Judge graduates with a PhD

Renown Supreme Court Judge Jackton Boma Ojwang’ has made history after becoming the first law doctorate graduate from the University of Nairobi.

Justice Ojwang’ was among the 5,301 graduands but the first ever law PhD holder from the university.

He was conferred with a Doctor of Law degree.

Ojwang served the University of Nairobi as a lecture of law and the Dean School of Law between 1976 to 2003.

He was appointed a Supreme Court Judge in 2011.

He is a fellow of the Kenya National Academy of Sciences and has been awarded with an East African Law Society Senior Lawyer of the Year Award.

Ojwang is also a holder of Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear.
