Supreme Court To Rule On Digital Migration

The judgment by the highest court will be delivered just a day before the deadline set by the Court of Appeal for the commencement of digital migration.

Kenyans will therefore know if their analogue TV sets will be switched-off as the Appellate Court had extended the transition to digital broadcasting, to the 30th of September, 2014.

This will become clear after the Supreme Court decides whether the three major media houses will have their own digital licence.

Judges will determine whether or not to uphold the Court of Appeal directive to the Government to issue the Standard Group, Nation Media Group and Royal Media Services a third licence without going through a tendering process.
