Survey that ranked Waititu as worst performing governor disowned

The Council of Governors has rubbished a survey that ranked Ferdinand Waititu as the worst performer.

In a statement published in local dailies on Thursday, COG chair Wycliffe Oparanya, raised concerns over the study.

”We would like to clarify that to date, the council of governors and counties in general did not receive the alleged questionnaire,” the statement reads.

It further alleges that the only possible conclusion that the COG can make is that the survey is a ‘political strategy to malign the leadership of the counties.’

They argued that the performance of counties cannot be compared as each county is unique in terms of the kind of milestones achieved and the challenges faced.

The Council of Governors has demanded an ‘unequivocal apology’ threatening legal action on the firm behind the study.

The report was released by All Africa Advisory (AAA) on Wednesday.

It ranked Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua as the best performer.

Governors Wycliffe Oparanya (Kakamega) and Mike Sonko (Nairobi) took second and third positions respectively.
