Suspect in Fatma Gedi alleged explicit photos case detained

Police have been given 14 days to hold a suspect believed to have circulated obscene photos alleged to be that of Wajir women Rep Fatma Gedi.

The suspect, Douglas Mbaya, was arrested on Thursday and appeared before Kiambu Senior Resident Magistrate Brian Khaemba.

He was however not allowed to take any plea.

Cybercrime investigating officer Bakhith Khaungu told the court that the 14 days will allow them obtain a forensic report on cyber report from the communication authority of Kenya.

The officer also said they are intending to travel to Wajir and Kakamega to arrest more suspects linked to the case.

The court ruled that the suspect be arraigned on January 14, next year.
