Suspect in Kericho gang rape incident identified: DCI

A man has been arrested after he was positively identified as one of the gangsters who raped three girls during a robbery in Kericho.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the girls picked out the suspect from an identification parade.

“The gang of 4 armed with crude weapons broke into the house, severely injured a 78 year old man, fatally wounded his wife aged 73yrs, robbed them of money and sexually assaulted their 3 grand daughters,” a statement from the DCI said on Thursday.

The three girls are aged 11, 13 and 20 and are recuperating at the AIC Mission Hospital in Litein.

A house-help, Sheila Cherotich, who was also hit with a blunt object was admitted to the facility.
