Suspect in Kirinyaga DG explicit video charged with robbing pastor

The prime suspect in Kirinyaga Deputy Governor Peter Ndambiri’s explicit video saga was on Thursday charged with robbery with violence in a Thika Court but for a different case.

Prison warder Dennis Mugambi Nyaga together with two others; David Kinyua Gakuya and Boniface Mbuyu Wachanga are separately charged with robbing Pastor Jonathan Musau Mulwa of St. John’s ACK Church, Pumwani in Nairobi last.

The three are said to have robbed Pastor Mulwa at Kamaki’s area along the Eastern bypass in 2017.

Mbuyu and Gakuya were arrested by police in Ruiru last year and charged over the alleged robbery while Mugambi remained on the loose and was arrested after the deputy governor’s saga.

Before Senior Resident Magistrate Grace Omodho, State prosecution applied for a merger of Mugambi’s case with that of other suspects who have been out on Ksh.1 million bond.

Mbuyu, who was present, told the court that his co-accused, David Kinyua Gakuya was unwell and was receiving treatment at Ngurubani Hospital in Mwea.

However, the prosecution objected the excuse and appealed to the court to grant a warrant of arrest for Kinyua as documents to confirm he was unwell were not presented before court.

The court issued a warrant of arrest for Kinyua, warning that he must appear in court for the next mention.

A mention on consolidation of the case will be done on May 16, 2018.

Meanwhile, the prison warder is facing a similar robbery with violence charge at Kandara law courts in Murang’a in the case involving Kirinyaga deputy governor.
