Suspect who chopped man’s hand off over Ksh.150 debt arrested

A suspect who has been on the run after chopping off his friend’s arm over a Ksh.150 debt at Mariwa trading centre on November 2020 has been arrested.

Awendo Sub county Deputy Police Commander Mr.Jacob Walukhu said the suspect identified as Joshia Agutu was arrested on Sunday in Narok where he has been hiding.

Mr.Walukhu said the suspect allegedly attacked Maurice Ouma aged 27 years in his house and chopped off his left arm after they disagreed over the repayment of a debt.

The victims wife said her husband had sold a Ksh.700 phone to the suspect,managing to only get Ksh.550 upfront.

It’s when he demanded the balance that the suspect attacked him.

He is currently receiving medical care at the Rapcom Hospital.
