Suspects in shooting of Justice Mwilus bodyguard freed

Three suspects accused of shooting and injuring the bodyguard of Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu were arraigned in court on Tuesday and charged with robbery with violence.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Joyce Gandani the accused, James Wachira, Eric Njuguna and Everyncy Khalifwa pleaded not guilty to the charge of violently robbing Police Constable Titus Musyoka.

They were released on a Ksh.1 million bond with two sureties each.

Musyoka was shot outside Marsabit Plaza on Ngong Road in Nairobi on October 24, 2017.

The  attackers robbed him of his gun; a jerico pistol, with 15 rounds of ammunition before escaping on a motorbike.

Police claim that a pistol holster belonging to Musyoka was recovered from Njuguna’s house in Kasarani estate.

Musyoka was shot in the shoulder while purchasing flowers for Justice Mwilu.
