Suspend Embobut Evictions, Govt Told

Elgeyo Marakwet leaders now want the government to suspend the on-going Embobut evictions for up to one year to give victims time to find new places to resettle. The leaders reiterated their criticism of the manner in which the evictions were being implemented and demanded that the Kenya Forest Service be prevailed upon to desist from torching the houses, an act they termed inhuman.
