Suspended WPP Group CEO Bharat Thakrar resigns amidst probe

Suspended WPP Group Chief Executive Officer, Bharat Thakrar has resigned as CEO and board member according to a statement by the board issued on March 23.

Mr Thakrar who is facing an investigation into alleged gross misconduct has also resigned a director of the company’s subsidiaries and their affiliates.

According to the statement, investigations into possible offences committed by Mr. Thakrar and the Chief Financial Officer, Mr Satyabarata Das-also suspended- will continue.

Meanwhile, the board appointed Mr Alec Graham on an interim basis to serve as the CEO while the group commences the recruitment process.
