Swazuri: 7 State Lodges Land Grabbed

NLC chair Mohamed Swazuri said today that 7 State Lodges land had been grabbed and that the commission plans to recover them and take action against the culprits

Speaking in Uasin Gishu, Swazuri said that the state lodges whose land had been grabbed are Mombasa, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kitale, Kakamega, Mtito Andei and Kisumu

The lands commission boss also added that cases of grabbing of public land had risen especially in Uasin Gishu including land on which Eldoret High Court and Uasin Gishu district hospital are located.

This comes amid a row between the commission and Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu over the recently revoked title deeds by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The National Land Commission has maintained that it is the only body that will decide whether to revoke Title Deeds allocated to individuals said to have benefitted from illegally acquired land and not the ministry of lands.
