Tanzania results to be announced starting Monday

Tanzanians will start receiving electoral results Monday despite polling stations observing set voting time. This is the announcement made by the National Electoral Commission (NEC).

NEC said that the results cannot be released in a hurried manner and hence a need to start announcing them Monday in a systematic manner.

According to the electoral commission, the first results will be announced at 9AM and subsequent ones will follow in intervals if three hours.

NEC further says that it hopes to declare the winner as fast as possible.

The winner of the election will officially be announced on Thursday and presented with the certificate on Friday.

He or she will then be sworn in in the first week of November to take over as the fifth President of Tanzania.
