Teacher commits suicide for failing KCSE

A decomposing body of a 40 year old secondary school teacher was found Sunday evening hanging from the roof of his house in Rarieda sub-county.

According to neighbors, the deceased James Odhiambo, who was a teacher at Ramba Boys High School, was lastly seen on Wednesday, July 8th 2015.

According to the assistant chief of North Ramba sub-location Maurice Onimbo, neighbours became suspicious following an odour from the house before they forcefully broke in.

Onimbo told the press that the deceased left behind a suicide note which indicated that he took away his life because his girlfriend, identified as Anna Achieng’, had allegedly been spreading rumors that he failed his KCSE exams in 1993 and that he became a secondary school teacher through the ‘back door’.

The body was moved to Bondo Sub-county hospital mortuary awaiting a postmortem as investigations on the matter commence.
