Teacher defiles standard 8 pupil

A standard 8 pupil at Maria-ini Primary School, Gatundu North has been hospitalised after she was allegedly defiled by her teacher on Thursday.

According to the girl, the teacher, George Ng’ethe Waweru, summoned her during the school’s routine morning preps that start at around 6am to discuss her poor performance in mathematics.

He then sent her to get a desk and trailed her to the classroom where he allegedly raped her.

According to the girl, the teacher gave her a Sh20 coin and threatened to beat her up if she revealed the incident to anyone.

The scared girl reported the matter to her mother after arriving home in the evening and her mother took her to Gakoe Health Center and later to Igegania Level 4 Hospital where tests revealed she had been defiled.

The girl’s mother expressed disappointment in the teacher’s actions and called on law enforcement officers to bring him to justice.

“We entrust teachers with our children when we send them to school and expect them to not only lead them into their career paths but to also guide them into leading morally upright lives. They are our children’s parents away from home,” said the girl’s mother.

“This teacher has no mercy doing this to my child and I am calling on the government to bring him to justice.”

She lamented that even after submitting the medical report to Gakoe Police Post on Friday, the teacher remains a free man.
