Teacher Kills Father, Injures Mother in Marakwet

Hillary Maiyo is accused of beating up his parents, leading to the death of his father and afflicting serious injuries on his mother.

According to Marakwet police boss Mathews Mang’ira, the suspect arrived home in the evening and attacked his parents with a machete and a club for reasons yet to be established.

However, reports indicate that Maiyo was suffering from mental instability.

Mr Mang’ira confirmed that the suspect is in police custody as investigations into the incident continue.

The suspect’s mother was taken to Kapsowar Mission Hospital where she is receiving treatment.
