Teacher stabbed in class as children scream for help

A primary school teacher from Bondo is nursing knife wounds after she was allegedly attacked by her husband on Tuesday evening.

Everline Akinyi Otieno, who teaches at St. Paul’s Gulf Academy, is said to have been attacked in class in front of her pupils.

According to her, Kevin Otieno Ochieng entered the classroom and demanded for her phone which she gave him before he went out.

Little did she know that he would return and start beating her.

He reportedly descended on the 25-year-old woman with kicks and blows before drawing out a knife.

She told Ramogi FM that he stabbed her on the neck and left cheek as children screamed for help.

The school Director  Indere Ambajo confirmed the attack revealing that the man tried to flee afterwards but was waylaid by an angry mob.

Police had to step in to save him from the crowd that was baying for his blood.

The 32-year-old man was arrested and taken to Bondo Police Station but apparently released under unclear circumstances.

His wife on the other hand was rushed to Bondo sub-county hospital for treatment.

She has since revealed that the husband had previously threatened to kill her on several occasions as they have had unending domestic wrangles.
