Teachers claim no internet for CBC assessment in Migori

The ongoing assessment of Grade Three pupils in Migori has greatly been affected by lack of internet connectivity, teachers claimed on Wednesday.

They say the challenge has mainly affected the schools in rural areas.

Mrs. Imnata Naitipa, headteacher at Nyarach Primary School in Rongo said they are among those affected.

She remained optimistic that the issue would be sorted out soon.

And Mr. Isiah Adongo, headteacher at Rongo Primary School however said they were not been affected.

According to him, the Competence Based Curriculum (CBC) is practical oriented and the learners are enjoying it.

Migori County Director of Education Elizabeth Ochaye however insisted that all computers have internet connection.

Speaking to Radio Ramogi on Wednesday, Mrs. Ochaye averred that there are some teachers asking for money from the parents under the guise of internet challenges.

She warned that no teacher should ask for money to download the papers from cybercafes.
