Ten arrested with bows and arrows as inter-clan clashes escalate in Narok

The Siria-Eruasingishu clan stand off on the slopes of Transmara, Narok County, seems far from being resolved.

Ten young men were on Sunday arrested in possession of bows and arrows as renewed clashes between the warring clans escalated.

Police suspect that the youth were preparing for yet another bloody retaliatory attack in the area.

Their arrest coming just a day after fresh clashes erupted in the area leading to the death of 3 people.

15 other residents are nursing injuries in different health centres following the attack.

To restore sanity, heavy security agencies have been deployed  to conduct an operation.

The team is drawn from different formations including the national police and other security agencies; it is expected to cover five areas deemed to be most volatile.

Narok Governor Samual Ole Tunai condemned the violence calling on the community elders to broker peace and ensure harmonious coexistence between the two clans.

A General Service Unit (GSU) camp that was proposed to be set up at the border of the two warring clans as buffer is yet to be established.
