Tension as Maseno University administration block is set on fire

Tension is high at Maseno University Main Campus after unknown people set the Finance and Dean of Students offices on fire.

Reports link the incident to the upcoming students’ elections. No casualties have been reported so far.

The incident had paralysed learning in the campus for a better part of Thursday though normalcy has since returned.

The University administration has called on students and parents to remain calm as police launch investigations to ascertain the cause of the fire.

According to Maseno University Public Relations Officer, Jaspher Otieno, learning will continue without any disruptions adding that no important documents were destroyed by the fire.

Otieno said that the University is yet to ascertain the extent of the damage adding that no one has been arrested in relation to the incident, though investigations are on-going.

Despite the reassurance, a sense of unease still engulfs the campus with most students saying the fire incident has thrown their learning into disarray.
