Tension High In Panda-Nguo, Lamu

The attackers, believed to be over 300, are said to have also made away with 6 guns belonging to area police reservists.

The heavily armed attackers invaded the village at around 8:30p.m and set ablaze Panda-Nguo Primary school, before raiding Panda-Nguo health center and stole medical supplies.

The Kenya police reservists were reportedly praying in a mosque when the attackers stole their rifles.

No casualties have been reported in the fresh attacks which are believed to have been carried out by Al-Shabaab militants.

As insecurity continues to hit the coastal region, two people were Thursday night arrested with 10 firearms, 40 rounds of ammunition and used cartridges in Lamu ranch owned by a Coast Tycoon.

These latest incidents come barely a month after Mpeketoni area and its environs were attacked leaving over 80 people dead.

Last week the government donated 26 security vehicles to beef up security in the county but the situation seems not to have improved.

Heavy security operations are currently underway in the County in search of the perpetrators of the attacks.
